Windows 10 : Here it comes for free

Finally the wait is over and the date is set for the launch of Windows 10 operating system. With this all PC's , mobiles, tablets having windows 7 or higher will be upgraded to windows 10. The upgrade is free for licensed users of previous windows versions if you are one lucky guy then there are some things that you might need to have a look at it before thinking for this early free upgrade.

  • You are going to lose some features which includes mediacenter and you require a separate playback software for playing your DVD's (if VLC is their then why afraid).
  • Card game hearts is the next one they are removing. I don't remember any attempt of mine to try the game but reports indicate it will no longer be their.
  • Windows 7 desktop gadgets the next in line was a pretty cool stuff but no it wont be their anymore.
  • Any one in the habit of using Floppy disks (What's that ? Search google it existed as a storage medium) will have to install separate drivers to work with it.
  • And reports indicate that some features such as XBox and cortana will require region based licenses.

Microsoft has also listed the minimum system requirement to carry out the upgrade in its official website
Apart form latest version of windows 7 SP1 , windows 8.1 or windows 8 you may need
Processor > 1GHz.
RAM : 1 GB For 32 bit and 2 GB for 64 bit
HardDisk 16 GB for 32-bit OS 20 GB for 64-bit OSGraphics card: DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driverDisplay: 1024x600.

So if you fall in the required specification list you are one lucky man for the upgrade. But before the upgrade you need to have all your important stuffs backed up safely.

Popular Snake game in nokia is back with a reboot

Its time to bring out everything you gained by playing 'Snake' in late 90's and early 2000. On your fathers or a relatives nokia phone when you played a 'Snake' game it was a fight to beat your own highest score. Before the gaming apps even existed we enjoyed gaming with snake on a monochrome handsets. It was most popular of its time but  as they say old is gold, the graphics were black squares and you were limited to move in four directions. Taneli Armanto design engineer at nokia was responsible for 'Snake' father of mobile gaming. Even though available on computers in late 70's the mobile version was a big hit, when it was launched in 1997 on a nokia 6110 model.

More than a decade later Armanto have partnered with Rumilus design a finland based gaming studio to give it a reboot. With monetizing a key feature in most games released via different app stores the rebooted 'Snake' will too have its share and ways to interest the customer. The first major step has already been taken by releasing the game on all three mobile platforms iOS, Android and Windows on same day. With 'Snake' concept already out their with numerous clones and only few handful of games have really garnered a fan base its a wait and watch whether it will build a fan base or will remain in stores.
